Merkel, Tye Merger Going Well Officials Say

School officials say that parents and students are settling into the new school district, and that all has gone as well as they could ask.
Also, while there may be some changes due to the merge, officials believe it will be good for the kids in the long run.
"They've got more friends now," comments Bill Hood, Superintendent, "and they're in a different setting. You know, I think it's a new adventure and kids are pretty resilient. I think other than having to get up a little earlier then they're used to, it's gone really well."
Tye Elementary school closed at the end of this past school year.
