The McMurry War Hawks are getting ready for their 1st game in NCAA Division II.

That 1st game presents quite a challenge because they are traveling across town to take on the nationally ranked ACU Wildcats.

Hal Mumme's team is loaded on offense, and his team is ready to start their adventure into Division II.

Coach Mumme said, "It's kind of a strange mix because we've got these 13 old guys that we D-3 players here, and 4 years ago they were just trying to figure out how to win a game, and then last year that had a great season, and they've stuck around for this year, the transition year. Then you've got the totally new freshmen that hopefully found class today." Mumme added, "So what we've tried to do is be real business-like. Try to get them to play the next play all the time and not think to far ahead."

The new version of the Crosstown Showdown is college football is Saturday night. The War Hawks and the Wildcats meet at Shotwell Stadium at 6.
