Head coach Jesse Burleson's team is going through a transition period in the offensive backfield this year.
2 new running backs will share time, and Logan Turner is the new starting quarterback after winning the job during 2-a-days, and he had a great performance in the intrasquad scrimmage last week.
Turner said, "There's been some great quarterbacks come through here. I've been familiar with this place and the traditions here and the winning traditions that they have for a long time. I've kept up with them, and it's just an honor. It's an honor to be mentioned as the rest of them."
Head coach Jesse Burleson added, "We legitimately have a couple of guys we could throw out there and would give us a chance to win, but the guy that will be taking the snap 1st will be Logan."
HSU kicks off it's 75th football season Saturday night at 6 at Shelton Stadium. The Cowboys are 16-6 in openers since bringing the football program back in 1990.
