The West Texas Fair and Rodeo opened Friday officially.

The fair gates are open from 8 in the morning until 11 in the evening each day through next Saturday, September 15.

This year's parade is scheduled at 10:30 Saturday morning in downtown Abilene.

This year's big rodeo is scheduled to begin Tuesday evening at 7:30 with the grand entrance and the crowning of this year's West Texas Fair and Rodeo queen.

Hundreds of people showed up last night for the fair sneak-a-peak with most of the attractions on the midway open. The display buildings are scheduled to be open today.
