College Enrollment Numbers in, Steady Overall

Enrollment numbers are in for local universities, and the numbers have remained fairly solid from last year, with a few boasting a slight increase in the number of students.
Hardin-Simmons University's enrollment totals at 2,301, which boats an overall increase from last year.
This increase includes a 1.1 percent increase in total full-time students, and 6.8 percent increase in new full-time students from a year ago.
Abilene Christian University will release thier enrollment numbers next week.
McMurry University's enrollment totals at 1,372 full-time students, which is down 3.3 percent.
However, full-time freshman and transfer students are up 5 percent compared to a year ago.
Officials say reduced state and federal financial aid for students is to blame for the overall decrease in enrollment.
Howard Payne University in Brownwood has 1,130 total enrollment, which is a slight drop from 1,201 a year ago.
