A great day of beneficial rain and cooler temperatures thus far here in the Big Country, with the cooler air being even cooler than expect as temps have remained in the lower 60s all day it seems.

Keep those umbrellas handy as rain chances and below average temps will remain in the forecast for the next couple of days before sun and warmer weather return for Sunday.

Thus far we have totaled 1.08" of rain in the past 24 hours officially at the Abilene Airport.

Tonight: Chances for storms and showers will continue with cloudy skies and lows near 57.

Friday: Mostly cloudy skies are expected with the chance stil for some showers or a storm. Highs near 69.

Saturday: Becoming partly cloudy with a slim shower or storm chance. Highs near 76.

Sunday: Mostly sunny and warmer. highs near 86.
