Weekend Rundown: West Texas Fair & Rodeo Wraps Up

From a shoppers dream show to a country concert featuring the Hardin Simmons orchestra, there are plenty of fun events taking place across the Big Country this weekend.

Friday, September 14th
There's only two days left for the West Texas Fair & Rodeo. Friday, Famous Dave's Chef Vince Laudi takes the celebrity chef stage and later a performance from Cactus Cuties.

Saturday, September 15th
If you love running, check out the the Cross Plains Classic 5K this Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Cross Plains. The run starts at 7:30 a.m.

Also Saturday, Michael Martin Murphey fans can catch the country artist live in concert along with the Hardin Simmons orchestra. The show starts at 8:00 p.m., tickets are $26.

The Abilene ISD is still seeking volunteers to help with the 2nd Annual "Every Student Counts: Walk For Graduates" Saturday. Volunteers will go door-to-door to try and reconnect with students who have not returned to school.

The Peddler Show is taking over the Abilene Civic Center through Sunday with over 50 different vendors selling everything from clothes to jewelry and even craft gear.
