Novice Consolidation Continues To Cause Controversy

By: BigCountryHomepage.com Staff

The Coleman school board voted unanimously to oppose a petition on the annexation of the Novice school district.
A Novice resident started a petition to give half of the Novice school property to Jim Ned.
That petition was started after Novice and Coleman voted to consolidate.
More than 100 of the registered voters in Novice signed the consolodation petition. That's more than half.
But, sixteen of those voters asked for their signatures to be removed.
They say they had been misinformed.
Both Coleman and Novice ISD  will hold public hearings and vote on the issue in the coming months.
