"I come here at least once a week, this is one of my very favorite places", says Ulrich.
So what she saw when she passed by her favorite eatery a month ago came as a shock.
"I saw an SUV half inside the building that had crashed through the front window wall, and bricks all over the place", Ulrich tells us.
And while no one was hurt in the accident, the business suffered some major financial injuries.
Mary Lynn King is a business manager at La Botana. "Out of pocket expense, and all those days of not being able to operate the business, and not being able to pay employees is tens of thousands of dollars", says King.
The restaurant leases the building, but had to replace all the furniture in the dining room that was destroyed.
"To recoup the damages and then being out of business for those eleven days with absolutely no planning, was tough", King explains.
While employees and managers saw their business almost crumble into pieces, they took advantage of the setback by sprucing up the building.
And after a long eleven days, La Botana is back to work, showing the community they can rebuild their business, and continue serving up success.
At this point, police say that the woman driving the Jeep Liberty had mechanical issues with the vehicle, causing the accident.
