Weekend Rundown: A Little Beer and A Little Bark

From live music across the board to a few of the Key City's well known men strutting their stuff in "Bras for the Cause" there are plenty of fun things to get involved in this weekend.

Friday, September 21st

The Grace Museum welcomes three new exhibits Friday. To celebrate, they're hosting a kick off party with wine and refreshments starting at 5:30 p.m.

SculpTOUR featuring various artist from across Texas also gets underway Friday and lasts through Saturday in Downtown Abilene. The entire event is sponsored by the Abilene Cultural Affairs Council.

The 7th Annual Rhymes and Vines Festival is currently underway in Stephenville, TX featuring various Country music artists including Larry Joe Taylor. The Festival runs through Saturday.

The West Texas Book Festival is also underway in Downtown Abilene. Saturday morning they will host a "Getting Published" Workshop that will be free for the public.

Saturday, September 22nd

Dog owners and even potential new dog owners can join the Taylor Jones Humane Society at the Festival Gardens for this year's "Bark in the Park!" There will be costumes, games, food and of course plenty of fun.

Matthew West will be performing live at the Abilene Civic Center thanks to Sears Methodist Retirement Systems. Tickets are $20 and all funds benefit Sears Methodist.

The Abilene Chapter Woman's Council of Realtors is hosting the very first "Bras for the Cause" event Saturday at the Historic Paramount. Watch some of your crazy community members showing off in hand crafted braziers!

Sunday, September 23rd

The McMurry University Jazz Band will be hosting a Sunday Jazz Jam starting at 3 p.m. in Bynum Band Hall on campus. McMurry says musicians of all ages and experience will be able to bring their instruments and either sit in with the band or just sit back and enjoy the music.
