It's the story about a little baby plant that grows up to be one big green monster all because of a little blood.

Some Abilene residents have already gotten a taste of "Little Shop of Horrors" but if you haven't there's still time. The show debuted September 13th to a crowded auditorium.

Two cast members stopped by KTAB 4u Friday to give audiences an inside look at what it's like to raise a monster plant.

Jake Wade, or "Seymour" describes his character as a "nerd" and a "putz," but that's not all that defines his role.

"He loves plants and he loves to work with plants," says Wade. "It just so happens that he gets to work with this little alien plant."

While the alien plant is no doubt scary for audience members witnessing it for the first time, Wade says it's also a little frightening at times for him on stage.

"I get to actually sing a song to an inanimate object and then it kind of comes to life with the operator kind of using his hands," describes Wade, "and then I get to play with it myself and make it come to life and as it grows bigger and bigger it gets kind of scary."

The last weekend to catch "Little Shop of Horrors" will be Friday, September 28th through Saturday, 29th. The theatre recommends calling ahead to reserve your tickets to avoid long lines.
