A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for the western and northwestern Big Country for this evening until 11:00 PM. Damaging winds and large hail will be possible in King, Kent, Stonewall, Scurry, and Mitchell counties. Stay tuned.

A cool front system will move through sometime Friday night into Saturday and we will have plenty of moisture in the atmosphere for this system to work with: Gulf moisture at the surface and remnants of Hurricane Miriam in the mid levels as well all point to good soaking rains and totals of 1 to 3 inches by later Saturday.
A chance of rain stays into Monday for the area. Also, cooler air will also be on tap from Friday in through the upcoming weekend. Fall will finally start to feel like it is really here!
