A cool front system will move through sometime Friday night into Saturday and we will have plenty of moisture in the atmosphere for this system to work with: Gulf moisture at the surface and remnants of Hurricane Miriam in the mid levels as well all point to good soaking rains and totals of 1 to 3 inches by later Saturday.
A chance of rain stays into Monday for the area. Also, cooler air will also be on tap from Friday in through the upcoming weekend. Fall will finally start to feel like it is really here!

Tonight: Best storm chances out west and north. Otherwise locally in Abilene area partly cloudy with an outside storm chance. Lows near 68.
Thursday: Mostly cloudy a slim storm chance and a little cooler. Highs near 88.
Friday: Clouds and increasing rainstorm chances. Cooler. Highs near 79.
