If you're looking for ways to stay healthy and active, there's a five k run just waiting for you to jump on board this weekend, called the "Movin' at Midnight Run" and there's sure to be events for the whole family can enjoy!

The run is sponsored by Connecting Caring Communities, an organization dedicated to reaching out and establishing relationships in troubled communities in the Key City.

"In the first week of August, we had a tragic shooting over on North Ninth," says Stan Standridge, Chief of Police in Abilene. "In the weeks and months that followed, the police department teamed up with Connecting Caring Communities."

Together, the police department and CCC have been working to induce a positive change for these troubled communities. "Movin' at Midnight" is the first annual event sponsored by the police department and CCC together, but Chief Standridge is hopeful more events will be planned in future years.

Registration for the run/walk begins at 11pm Friday, October 5th and the actual run will start at 12:01 a.m at the D1 complex off Ridgemont Drive.
