The Annual Cattle Baron's Ball Returns to Fight Against Cancer
By: Natalie Ferrari
Updated: October 2, 2012
The Cattle Baron's Ball is an event that started back in the early 1980's and has been hosted all across the Big Country for many years. There will be auctions, horseshoes, a casino and even a unique game called "Chicken Poop Bingo," as well as a live performance by Big Country musician Zach Harmon.
Jackie Love, Chair of the Cattle Baron's Ball, gives a personal feel to the importance of the event, saying, "I have had family members die from cancer...and friends, and I think it affects most people, even co-workers friends, family, in-laws and I just really believe it's worth it. I mean, it's hard to watch someone go through that."
If you're interested in helping the fight against cancer, you can donate to the Abilene Cattle Baron's Ball, benefiting the American Cancer Society. Just head over to their Website.
As of Tuesday afternoon, all online ticket sales to the event have closed, but online donations are still being accepted.
