Search Warrant Reveals Chilling Details Surrounding Brownwood Woman's Death

A broken shovel.
Ammunition.
Gunpowder residue.
And what could be remnants of blood, hair and tissue.
Those are just some of the pieces of evidence found by investigators from 53-year-old Lanny Bush's home and vehicle in San Angelo, according to a search warrant affidavit out of Tom Green County.
The documents confirm that Michele Reiter, the Brownwood woman reported missing on September 11th, was previously involved in a romantic relationship with Bush, and that the two had made plans to meet up on September 10th.
According to this affidavit, a receipt found in Bush's car reveals he bought ammunition on that same day -- the last time Reiter was seen alive.
In an interview with police on September 19th, Bush admitted to creating a fake Facebook page, using the name 'Rocky Switzer,' with the intent to communicate, meet up with and harm Reiter.
He also admitted to the meeting actually taking place. The pair saw each other on two occasions on Sept. 10th.
Bush then confessed to having Reiter's cell phone after her disappearance and sending text messages pretending to be her.
During that same interview with police, Bush denied having anything to do with Reiter's disappearance.
Reiter's body was found by a Texas Ranger during a land search in Coleman County on September 24th, in what investigators call a "shallow, clandestine" type grave.
The document also reveals that investigators believe Michele Reiter was murdered.
The 22 pieces of evidence seized from Bush's property are being sent over to the Department of Public Safety's crime lab in Lubbock for analysis.
Brownwood police said Tuesday they have nothing new to release at this point because the investigation is ongoing.
Bush also has a new charge out of Brown County for online impersonation, in addition to the same charge in Tom Green county that was filed last Tuesday.
His bond has now been raised to $220,000.
