City officials in Breckenridge are planning to spray for mosquitoes.

The city officials say they are concerned about West Nile virus, and last week's heavy rain left a lot of areas where mosquitoes can lay their eggs.

The Breckenridge American newspaper reports that there has been one case of West Nile virus confirmed in Stephens County.

The disease is such a concern because in worst cases it can be debilitating or even deadly.
