Update: Sentence Handed Down in Abilene Murder Trial

The man who was found guilty of shooting and killing an Abilene man at a local apartment complex has received his sentence.

Alfred Williams has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Williams was found guilty of shooting and killing 22-year-old Kerrion Harness at the Little Elm condos on South 7 in west Abilene last October.

10/08/12 Update

A Taylor County jury will be back in court Monday afternoon for the beginning of the punishment phase of a murder trial.

The jury determined that 26-year-old Alfred Williams is guilty of murder for the shooting death of 22-year-old Kerrion Harness.

Texas law allows for a wide range of punishment options.

The possible range is from 5 to 99 years in prison.

A jury will begin to decide whether or not the man accused in an Abilene apartment shooting is guilty.

Both sides rested their case earlier Thursday in the trial of Alfred Williams.

Williams is charged with shooting and killing 22-year-old Kerrion Harness at the Little Elm condos on South 7 in west Abilene last October.
 
Jury members will reconvene Friday morning.

The trial of an Abilene man accused of murder is still in the prosecution phase.

A detective took the stand in Alfred Williams' trial today after the state presented its final arguments Tuesday.
   
Williams is charged with shooting and killing 22-year-old Kerrion Harness.

The trial started Monday when the jury was selected 

Williams allegedly shot Harness at the Little Elm condos on South 7 street in west Abilene last October.
