Thursday at 12:57 p.m., the Texas Highway Patrol and FBI located a 5-year-old child kidnapped from Louisiana.  The child's mother, 32-year-old Ashley Goudeaux, is currently being held in the Taylor County Jail in connection with the crime.

Earlier Thursday, the Department of Public Safety office in Abilene received information from the FBI concerning this child's possible location in Callahan or Taylor County, so the Texas Highway Patrol began the search.

The 5-year-old kidnapped girl was located in Abilene at the Greyhound Bus Terminal on Texas 351 (Ambler Ave.) on a bus. She was found by the Texas Highway Patrol and FBI.

The 5-year-old girl was released to Child Protective Services.

The accompanying adult, Ashley Darlene Goudeaux of Pollock, Louisiana, was arrested and taken to Taylor County Jail.

It has been confirmed that Goudeaux is the mother of the child.

Officials are waiting for an arrest warrant from Louisiana.

More information will follow when available.
