They're using your trash- to make treasure.

A group of Clyde High school art students have constructed a miniature golf course made entirely out of scraps.

"The amount of tape and glue sticks that we used could go around our track about two times," said Erica Jones, the teacher behind the project.

They've built a six-hole "put-put" course was made out dozens of cardboard boxes.

They were inspired by a popular YouTube video, titled "Cain's Arcade" to create an entertainment area of their own.

"Many people came up to me and said why cant you just do something simple?  That's not what I like to do, I like to take the time and use as much effort as I can," said freshman Jax Pimentel.

Except this one isn't just for fun.

It's also a way to raise money.

All proceeds will go toward the "Back Pack for Kids" school supply charity.

"It makes me feel good like that I'm doing something to help people other than myself," said Rebecca Sosa one of the students behind the project.

It's taken them nearly two weeks to build and prepare for the big debut, and although there have been plenty of challenges.

"Working with cardboard, it was really hard to get it to cooperate," said Sosa.

They're hoping it will all pay off in the end.

"I mean up until yesterday it was just flat sheets of cardboard on the ground  and then when we actually constructed it and people came in they they saw it and were like wow," said Pimentel.

One things for sure, they've all learned that just a little bit of tape, scraps and imagination goes a long way.
