Abilene Regional Chili Cook-off Friday

By: Press Release
Updated: October 5, 2012
October's forecast is hot and chili, as Abilene Regional Medical Center prepares to host its 7th annual chili cook-off Friday, October 5.

Teams will compete for two awards: Judge's Choice and Popular Vote.

Tickets are $5 per person, and each ticket buys a chance to taste and vote on all chili entries.

A guest panel of judges will award the Judges Choice Award. The cook-off will be held in the Women's Center classrooms at ARMC from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and competitors are comprised of ARMC employees and medical staff.

All proceeds benefit the American Heart Association.

In conjunction with the chili cook-off, ARMC will also conduct a raffle.

Items to be raffled include a Remington deer rifle, Vendetta's Spa package and a Home Depot Starter Tool Kit. Raffle tickets are $5 per person, or five tickets for $20, and can be purchased at the ARMC Human Resources department or the day of the raffle.

The chili cook-off and raffle will conclude a month long fundraising effort by ARMC personnel.

Fundraising events included: Blue Jean Fridays, a hamburger cook-out, silent basket auction and a bake sale.

The ARMC team will participate on Saturday, October 6 in the Heart Walk at Nelson Park.
