ABILENE, Texas  - Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team moved its American Southwest Conference unbeaten streak to 150 games with a 12-0 win over Schreiner on Friday afternoon at the HSU Soccer Complex.

The Cowgirls streak in ASC play dates back to Sept. 4, 2000 and HSU is 147-0-3 in the streak. It was the first game of coach Marcus Wood's coaching career at HSU and 1-0 loss to Texas-Dallas.

"It is an accomplishment for sure," said Wood. "It is something we are proud of, but it is not something we dwell on. I think our former players get into the streak more than the current players. We have an intense focus on each game and that is how we operate as a program. We have had a lot of great players over the last 13 years and they have all contributed to the streak in a great way."

HSU received a record-setting day from their All-American Katie Kuykendall. She had three goals and tied her own school record with five assists. Her 11 points in the game also tied the school record.

The Cowgirls jumped on the board in the 10th minute when Courtney Cramer headed home a corner kick from Kuykendall. Kuykendall added her own goal at 15:30. The next two goals that came :43 a part were nearly identical. Kuykendall hit a corner to Courtney Cramer who one touched it to her sister Caitlin. Caitlin finished both and HSU led 4-0 18:02 into the game.

Kuykendall then scored a pair of goals :32 a part at 25:06 and 25:32 to make it 6-0. Austin Ricker added a pair of goals in the first half and Kinsey Johnson scored in the 39th minute to make it 9-0 at halftime.

Taylor Thigpen, Devon Howard and Shannon Byrd all scored in the first 15 minutes of the second half to make it 12-0.

The Cowgirls out shot Schreiner 49-2 in the game and 18-1 on goal. Lexi Stinson, Abby Blunt, Ashley Porter and Kelsie Piland all played for the Cowgirls in goal.

HSU is now 8-0-1 overall and 5-0 in ASC play. Schreiner fell to 1-9-1 overall and 1-6 in league play. HSU hosts Texas Lutheran on Saturday at 1 p.m.
