The Goldthwaite Eagles picked up their second win of the season Friday night over the Winters Blizzards.

The Eagle defense would be the first to strike in this one. Early in the first quarter with no score on the board Winters quarterback Jimmy John Ripley was picked off by Taylor Stepehens.

Stephens would then get his opportunity to put it in the endzone on a short run on the ensuing drive to make it 7-0.

The Eagle defense would once again stand strong later in the game when Winters appeared to be moving the ball after a completion by Ripley to Bryce Mikesa. That drive would stall and the Eagles would once again take over.

Goldthwaite's offense would once again find the endzone in the second quarter, but this time with a run by Jaggar Parrish. That made it a 14-0 Eagles lead.

The Eagles would not look back from that point, as they go on to shutout the Blizzards by the score of 54-0.
