It was a night filled with food and games, all for a good cause.

"It's heartwarming to see all of these people are out here just to support people like me," said Linda Johnston, who is a breast cancer survivor.

A majority of the money raised at the cattle baron's ball goes towards cancer research, but some goes directly to those fighting the disease.

"It also goes for the cancer services. They provide gas cards for people who have cancer who don't have the money or they provide them with  prosthesis and you know, things to help them," said Cattle Baron's Chairman Jackie Love.

Money that goes towards helping people like Linda.

"They helped me with some of the supplies that I needed after the surgery," she explained. "And I made friends with them. I felt very comfortable with them, talking about the situation because i knew that they were knowledgeable about that."

Now a two year cancer survivor, Linda is giving back to the American Cancer Society. Not only by volunteering at the event, but by volunteering every day. Helping those that are fighting the same battle that she's already conquered.

"Cause I fell like I can give back and maybe I can help someone else," said Linda.

Helping other women get fitted for wigs or exchanging stories, the survivor says it has helped her in more ways than she expected.

"It really has made me feel, more or less of a victim and more like a survivor and I don't really think about, 'Gee, I went through this horrible thing,'"she said.

Though she learned a lot through her fight with cancer, Linda says working with the American Cancer Society will continue to be a learning experience.
