This weekend over 70 businesses from across the Big Country will gather together at the Abilene Civic Center for this year's Business Mercado. From food to magazines, clothes and so much more, it's a chance for residents to get a taste of everything Hispanic
"It's just going to be a jam packed day full of events, culture, entertainment, food... It's just going to be an awesome day," says Jessie Cardenas, co-chair of Business Mercado for the Abilene Chamber of Commerce.
While the Business Mercado may be geared toward the Hispanic community, Cardenas says they hope everyone will come out to experience the market.
"If you're a business owner, it's anyone who wants to make more money and if you're a consumer, it's anyone who wants to stretch their dollars," explains Cardenas.
The Business Mercado offers residents a glimpse into the Hispanic culture, a culture Cardenas says is growing.
"It's one of the fastest growing cultures in the country," says Cardenas. "So this is a good reason to be involved and engaged with that."
