The Bulldogs enter District 4-3A as 1 of the 2 unbeaten teams in the district with Big Spring.
The Bulldogs rolled thru their non-district schedule with an average score of 36 to 10, and the running game is playing a big roll.
Head coach Hugh Sandifer's offense is averaging 230 yards a game on the ground with Garrett Martin leading the way with 730 yards behind that big offensive line.
"It doesn't matter what kind of offense or defense you run; if you don't have good guys at the point of attack you're going to be kind of playing from behind," says Sandifer.
"It's a lot easier when the guys up front are working as hard as they are. DeAndre, Riley, Jonna; all three starters coming back. They had a lot of experience, and they're helping a lot of guys out." said Garrett Martin.
Bulldogs offensive lineman Deandre Key said, "Garret hitting those wholes really helps us out getting five six yards a carry. And just moving the chains when he hits the hole."
"He's got a good knack for running with the football. He's a good tough runner. You know, he's got good speed, but if he's got to lower is shoulder and make a tough yard. He's had a good season, and we need for him to continue for him to have big games if we want to be successful," said Sandifer
The Bulldogs open district play against the other unbeaten team. Big Spring is averaging 34 points a game. They play in Big Spring at 7:30.
