UPDATE: The Brown County Sheriff's Department confirms the boys were located in Albany. Authorities believe they got there with a car that was stolen from Brown County. The investigation is still on going.

"They're 40, 50 miles from where they started from."

It started as an escape from a rehab facility in Goldthwaite late Friday night and by Monday morning, it morphed into an all-out search.

Two teenagers, ages 14 and 16, are accused of a laundry list of crimes spanning two counties -- Brown and Mils.

Justin Thomason was on his way home early Monday morning, when he spotted the pair on what we now know was a stolen and hot-wired ATV.

"I just figured it was kids driving around, backroading, no big deal," Thomason said. "When they took off, I was still going to let them go, make sure they went past my land, then they slammed on the brakes and went onto my property and then it was my business after that."

Thomason tried to chase the teens down, but was too late.

Authorities found the wrecked ATV in his family's field hours later -- the second ATV authorities said the boys stole during their weekend spree.

A spree that also included a stop at the Country Stop convenience store in Brownwood, where the teens reportedly used a stolen deer rifle to shoot out the glass in the front door, jump in and grab a pack of powdered donuts.

Moments later, the store's alarm went off and the boys were caught on surveillance video.

"It's not necessarily just that they're two teenagers," said Tony Aaron, Captain of Operations for the Brown County Sheriff's Office. "They've broken into a building, they've stolen a couple vehicles, and you know, the possibility of them being armed. The last thing we want them to do is stumble across a citizen that's unaware of what's going on and take it to the next level where somebody does get hurt."

Despite all that, Thomason said he thinks it's just kids being kids.

"Ain't nothing to be scared of, just kids running around right now. If they were going to shoot at us, they would have already shot at us."

Since the boys are minors, KTAB has chosen not identify them by name.

The 16-year-old is described as standing 5'8" tall, weighing 130 pounds and was last seen wearing a purple and gold Wylie hoodie, shorts and tennis shoes.

The 14-year-old is described as 5'3" inches, weighing 135 pounds and wearing a red T-shirt, shorts and blue high tops.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff's Office in Brown or Mills Counties.
