Taking out the wrapping paper and boxes makes it look like the holiday season is upon us, but Chris and Hope Dupnik are not buying your typical holiday gifts.

They are  buying diapers.

Chris says, "Diapers are a major expense and especially there's added expenses that come along with the holiday season."

If you have children, or have ever been around them, you know buying diapers is a must, but it is not always easy.

"One in three families struggle to provide diapers in America," says Hope.

The Dupniks were one of them.

"We're kind of in the same boat. We moved here, I was pregnant with baby number five," Hope explains.

Her husband, Chris, was attending grad school, leaving this couple with little money to provide for their family, and even less for diapers.

Chris says, "You know, we've been there. We realize the struggle and the need to where you want to buy your kid these presents but then at the same time your kids need diapers and so you might have to settle for the present your kid doesn't necessarily want and that hurts."

Fortunately, a local Abilene ministry was able to help them out and now this family wants to be a blessing to others and lift that burden for other families.

"Christmas isn't supposed to be a stressful time of year. Christmas is supposed to be a joyful time of year," says Chris.

This year, with help from the community, it will be, one diaper at a time.
