David Robinett talks to Abilene High head coach Steve Warren about his teams victory over the Cooper Cougars.

David Robinett says, "Coach Warren, your guys came through, again. What a football game on Friday night! Talk about where that Crosstown Showdown stands with the rest of them that you've been involved with."

Coach Warren said, "Maybe right at the top, David. It's unbelieveable how that game finished up.  2 really good football teams going at one another. The crowd stayed in it until the very end. It ranks right up there at the top with the overtime wins we've had in the last 17 years."

Robinett says, "The maturity level that football team showed, and the maturity level that Evin(Abbe) showed on that last drive. There was no panic. Everybody stayed calm, and got the job done. How much does that impress you?"

Coach Warren said, "Very much, so. You expect that out of great quarterbacks, and he's a great quarterback. He had the opportunity to prove it 1 more time. He took our team down the field and put it in the end zone. I think everybody on the offensive side of the ball has a great amount of confidence that we can do that."

Robinett said, "Now you've got to put it behind you. I know that was fun, but the weird thing about this game being in the middle of the season is that now, it has to be behind you because it didn't clinch anything."

Coach Warren added, "No it didn't, and you got an undefeated Midland Lee team that wants the same thing you do, a district championship. You got to put it behind you quick, and I didn't see any illeffects of it in practice on Monday. Hopefully, we will move from there."
