David Robinett talks to Cooper head coach Todd Moebes about his team's loss to Abilene High.

David Robinett said, "Coach Moebes, that was a tough loss. Your guys played the whole game and were right with them the whole time. It was just 1 of those games that could have gone either way. Talk about the feeling now, a few days after the loss."

Coach Moebes said, "Kids played a good football game. We had a couple of costly errors that went against us. I thought we played really well, and it just didn't bounce our way."

Robinett said, "Seemed like that last play was a microcosm of the whole game.  It could have gone either way on that play."

Coach Moebes says, "It could've. The quarterback did a good job of trying to make a play for his football team, and we had a chance to make a play for ours, and it just didn't bounce our way. If it bounces 1 way or the other, it could've changed the outcome, but it didn't. Overall, I was pleased with the way our guys played. I am very proud of how they have gotten better since Week 0 to now. We have to continue to do that this week."

Robinett said, "Last week we talked about how Lorenzo was throwing the ball better, this week it really showed much he's improved throwing the ball. Seems like he played his game throwing the ball."

Coach Moebes said, "He played with a lot of confidence. I think offensively, we are doing a very good job of  complimenting our passing game with our running game. It helps to open up some of those throws. He's doing a good job of putting the ball where it needs to be. The protection's been good, and the receivers are doing a good job of running good routes and catching the ball when it's their turn."

The Cougars are back at home for the 3rd straight week on Friday night. They host Midland High at Shotwell Stadium. The Cougars are 2 and 2 in district. The Bulldogs are 2 and 1 in district.
