Laura W. Bush Visits The Key City; Speaks At Benefit Dinner

People filed in Abilene's Civic Center one after the next...

It has been a night many West Texans have been waiting for.

"Oh we're excited!"

Global Samaritan Resources held their benefit dinner Tuesday night and this year's theme was one that brought a big name speaker to the Key City. 

It was "An evening with Laura W. Bush." and it attracted people from all walks of life, with a similar mindset. One of helping others, especially those in need.

"I'm thrilled that Laura's come to Abilene. Just to see what a great city it is and support such a great cause," says Marsha Hamack.

"Very special that she is coming to Abilene to be a part of what's going on in this community," says Craig Fisher.

Mrs. Bush was just as thrilled to be in Abilene as residents were to have her here.

"I'm happy to be here in Abilene for Global Samaritan Resources and for this, their annual benefit dinner," says Mrs. Bush.

It will be a night many will never forget spending the evening with Laura Bush, discussing plans for a better future.

"Very, very neat that she's here to support Global Samaritan Resources which is doing things in this community and worldwide to help many, many people," Fisher adds.
