Local Kia Dealership Acquires New Owner

By: Press Release
Updated: October 11, 2012
Daniel Bradley, Executive Vice President of Amarillo-based AutoInc, announced the recent acquisition of the Wild West Kia dealership in Abilene from local owner, Brad Morris.

"We're thrilled to be able to keep this leading dealership West Texas owned," said Bradley, "and look forward to the opportunity to make it even bigger and better."  The dealership was renamed Kia of Abilene, and will remain locally managed and operated at 1424 South Clack Street.

"We thought it appropriate to name the dealership Kia of Abilene," said Bradley. "It's simple and very descriptive of who we are, and the location on Clack Street is ideal.  Kia is an exciting, fast growing automobile line, and our goal is to expand the exceptional service and staff that the area has come to expect and know, and to make the new Kia of Abilene an even better showplace for the brand."  Along with new Kia cars and crossover vehicles, the dealership will offer a full line of pre-owned cars and trucks.

Ron Nelson was named General Manager and will oversee the operations of the dealership.  Nelson, with over 15 years of experience in dealership sales, service and dealership management brings a solid automotive background and a proven commitment to customer service to Kia of Abilene.  Nelson is an Abilene native who began his automotive career after graduating from Abilene Christian University.

Nelson has operated dealerships in the Abilene area for the past 6 years.

Kia of Abilene is currently in consultation with Kia to update the facility and expand the parts and service departments into a state-of-the-art facility to house the growing dealership and better serve our area customers, according to Bradley.

"We are excited about the potential of Kia in the Abilene-San Angelo area," he said.  "We're here for the long haul."

AutoInc is a family-owned automobile group that owns and operates automobile dealerships in the West Texas areas of Amarillo, Lubbock, Midland and Odessa. This is their first dealership in the Abilene area.
