We all receive them as part of our junk mail, but ever consider coupons as your go-to help for your holiday shopping? You may want to think twice before throwing them away.

For Kayde Johnson, who has been couponing for almost a year now, saving up to 100% is a piece of cake.

"It really just helps me save," she explains, "and it takes a little practice to get it all straight."

But practice does make perfect and for Kayde perfect means an average savings from 50-100% on the final bill.

"Of course the holidays are coming up and who is not interested in saving money!" adds Jamie Jimenez, Program Director for the Abilene United Way.

"Our center is there to actually empower families to learn how to budget and save," says Jimenez, "So Kayde and I started to talk."

The results of that talk is Couponing 101, a class sponsored by the Center for Economic Development with the United Way of Abilene.  Johnson will teach the class which will give students a chance to catch up on the basics of couponing.

The Class will be held at the Center for Economic Development. To secure a spot, simply call the United Way of Abilene, (325) 677-1841.
