The Historic Paramount Theater has your chance to get into the Halloween spirit with a classic horror/comedy tale from 1974.

The theater is showing two screenings of the Mel Brooks cult-classic, "Young Frankenstein". The parody explores Dr. Frankenstein's descendant Frederick Frankenstein who disapproves of his family history and last name. The story takes Frederick to Transylvania where he finds himself following the same path as his grandfather.

The showing of the film is a first for the Paramount as they aim to humor audience while starting the Halloween season.

"We thought this would be a good way to bring in the spirit of Halloween," says Betty Hukill, Historic Paramount Theater executive director. "It's just a really funny movie."

Paramount Film Series tickets are $6 for adults and $5 for students, seniors, military, and children.
