A busy bank on a busy street was robbed in broad daylight Monday morning and it has put some nearby business owners on edge.
Across the street from Prosperity Bank, Kiss My Bling boutique opened its doors on North Mockingbird just five months ago and even then, a little fear set in.
"In our first five days, someone shot out our window so we had to have that replaced, so there's been a few issues here," said co-owner Lindsay Hallmark.
Despite that, Hallmark explained how she and co-owner Tamara Morgan stay safe -- and sane.
"We're insured, we have security and we have cameras put in here. This store is like our baby so if anything were to happen to it, it would be devastating," she said.
On the other side of the coin, there's Doug McClellan..
His dry cleaning business has called the building home for 33 years and although he's surrounded by businesses that are often targeted by criminals, his never has been.
"Makes me wonder, when I close at night, I see strange people and it makes me leery, but fortunately, I've been lucky and I've never been robbed," McClellan said.
While both McClellan and Hallmark said they're happy to be where they're at, they agreed -- it always helps to have a little more police presence to keep a close eye.
"I do see a lot of people walking around and activity that raises my eyebrows so it's always good to know there's somebody out there helping us and watching out."
