It was an attempt to do what others have not done before.
"It feels really good. I mean, i never thought I'd hold a world record," said Tim Wade who holds the world record for most consecutive back hand springs.
"It's pretty cool. I've never really had a chance to do that before," said Haley Speckerman, who attempted to break the record.
"It was really cool. It was awesome," said Cale Wade, who also broke the record.
Four gymnasts from Seal Gymnastics attempted to break the world record for the most consecutive back hand springs. And for their coach, Robert Wade, watching them try, and two succeeding, was mind blowing.
"None of the four of them had actually done that many back hand springs before. So for the very first time to try to do that, I could not have been more proud just for the fact that they were willing to get out there," he said.
But the twist? The two record breakers, Tim and Cale (who did 36 and 39 backhand springs respectively) are brothers. And they say getting to tumble together and break records together is bonding like no other.
"Our whole family is just all flipping around all the time," Tim said.
And the competition keeps the rivalry alive.
"I beat it, and then he stepped up and beat me," said Cale. "And I can come back and beat him someday."
As their coach and dad, Robert hopes the two boys take away more than just being able to make it into the book of world records.
"Don't be afraid to try anything. Set goals higher than you would think you are capable of, and go for them," he said.
And the two agree. Saying it's the ability to always get better that has shown them that they can truly do anything, even try to break their records, again.
"There's like no limit to what you can do. It just keeps getting better and better," Cale said.
"Just having that challenge there that there's nothing that you can't stop, you can't be the best, there's always more stuff to do," explained Tim.
