Tickets are still available for the upcoming Moonlight Talking Tombstone Tour in Brownwood this Saturday, October 27th from 5:45 pm till 9:00 p.m.

Tickets for the tour are $8 and are available at the Brownwood Chamber of Commerce.

Tours to historic grave sites will run about every 15 minutes and will each last approximately one and a half hours. Transportation for the tour will be provided at Higginbotham's parking lot, located at 1500 Center Avenue (just off of Hwy 377S near the Truman Harlow overpass).

Donnie Evetts and Friends will entertain at the parking site, and DVDs of last year's tour will be on sale. Tour tickets will also be available.

All proceeds from the event will go toward preservation of the cemetery. The front gates will be closed for the event and participants will enter through the newly opened and restored Greenleaf Cemetery gate.

Visitors to the scenic Greenleaf Cemetery will be guided to the grave sites of "former" residents, portrayed by actors in period costumes who will share something of their lives and times.

Transportation continues from site to site during this tour of the lives of historical people buried in Greenleaf Cemetery. Pictured top left is Don Morelock who played Noah Byars in the 2011 Talking Tombstones tour.

This year's actors and characters include:

Lynn Humeniuk is portraying Dr. Irene Trapp who was an amazing educator that became president of Daniel Baker College and had a long career in the Brownwood school system as well.

Kelly Crenshaw is portraying Greenleaf Fisk, who fought in the Texas Revolution, and donated land for the city of Brownwood and Greenleaf Cemetery. He was an important figure in the city's history for many years.

Brooke Smith is being portrayed by Dennis Graham. A prominent banker and farmer, he was known as the "father of Brownwood."

Priscilla Monson is playing Mayesie Malone, the county's first home demonstration agent, who influenced the lives of thousands of girls and women throughout her long career.

Daniel Graham is re-enacting the life of Tevis Clyde Smith, a local author and historian, who was also a close friend of Robert E. Howard.

Steven Wilson will portray Deputy C.M. Webb, who was killed by John Wesley Hardin. A mystery guest will appear as Mr. Hardin. Mr. Webb's marker is believed to be the oldest in the cemetery.

Laura Looney is being portrayed by Jennifer Williams, who has recently moved to his area. Mrs. Looney was the wife of J.R. Looney.  She and her husband were prominent citizens of Brownwood who owned a mercantile store and helped the community in countless ways.

Spencer Perkins, a Confederate soldier from Louisiana, is being portrayed by William Reece. Mr. Perkins was taken prisoner by Northern forces and managed to escape and return to his regiment. He demonstrated uncommon valor on the field of battle.
