In 2013, Hollywood filmmakers will stop producing 35mm films forcing drive-in theaters to switch to digital.

Abilene drive-in theatre Town & Country is trying to make that switch, but costs have been expensive for the company. The goal to make the transition will cost more than $150,000, and the owners and workers are seeking the help from Big Country residents.

The D-cinema projector required to provide sharper and brighter picture and will also cost less to produce. Regardless, small town theaters are looking for ways to raise the money.

Town & Country is hosting fundraisers, and accepting donations and sponsorships online for anyone interested in contributing. They say that 'to save the Drive-in from going dark, we must work swiftly and diligently'.
