APD: Woman's Strange Behavior Leads to DWI Arrest

Monday night at about 10:05, Officer Brady Broyles was headed to a call for service when he observed a motorist run a stop sign in the 800 block of Mulberry Street. Officer Broyles notified APD Dispatch and contacted the motorist in the 600 block of Mulberry Street. Officer Broyles contacted the female driver and observed that the she was very nervous. When asked to produce her driver's license, she handed Officer Broyles her debit card. During this investigation, Officer Broyles observed open containers within the vehicle. The driver conducted standard field sobriety tests which she failed. Officer Broyles confirmed that those open containers contained different quantities of alcohol. The driver was arrested for misdemeanor DWI with open container. A blood sample was taken as part of this investigation. This investigation continues.
Monday night at about 11:45, Officer Mary Guitar contacted a female subject on the premises of a business in the 2800 block of South 1 Street. Officer Guitar recognized the subject as a person that had been previously warned not to return to said premises. A records check confirmed that the subject had been warned not to return to the property or face criminal charges for trespassing. A representative of the business was contacted during this investigation. The female subject was arrested for misdemeanor criminal trespass.
