One person was airlifted to the hospital Tuesday after a one car accident in Hawley.

According to witnesses, around 10 o'clock Tuesday morning,  a truck was going down the highway when it left the roadway and ran over a sign.

Witnesses say it then seemed as though the driver hit the accelerator, then slammed into a concrete culvert at more than 70 miles per hour.

The truck caught fire after the crash,  but the fire was extinguished shortly after.

Witnesses say the driver was conscious when he was airlifted from the scene.
