An intruder got more than he bargained for after he broke into the Fresno, California home of Jannine Ramirez.

Ramirez was fresh off winning first place in a karate tournament when she came home to find a strange man in her bathroom early Sunday morning.

"I just stepped back, kicked the door open, and he flew through my shower doors," Ramirez recalls.  "He got back up, from there I just kicked him literally all the way out of my house."

Ramirez's mother and neighbors then held the man until sheriff's deputies arrived.

The man, later identified as 18-year-old Wilberto Zapata, was found to be under the influence of alcohol and had broken in mistakenly, thinking it was his apartment.

Ramirez says she just reacted to what she thought was someone threatening her family.

"I was just in my zone, went for it got it done," she laughs.
