The Eastland Mavericks started the 2012 season with a 1 and 2 record.

That slow start is a thing of the past, now, and they have things headed in the right direction.

The 19th ranked Mavericks have run off 6 straight wins, and they haven't scored fewer than 34 points in any of those games.

Eastland has already clinched a tie for the district title. They can win it outright tomorrow in Clyde.

"I told them, I'm more proud of them than any group that I've been associated with. You know, we've had some guys that have won it before but that was making their expectations or the expectations from everyone else. These kids expected to win where a lot of people might not have thought they could or were going to." Says Head Coach Brian Hullett.

"We worked very hard through offseason all the way to now and it never stops. We are going to keep on working. We are fortunate to be in this position because of our hard work, and we want to keep it going as long as we can." adds Brandon Allen.

The Mavericks finish up the regular season tomorrow night in Clyde against the Bulldogs.
