The Brownwood Lions are now 3-0 in district after a win Friday night over Lampasas. This week poses a tougher test, and possibly a district deciding game against Gatesville.

"It's been fun to watch our team mature and grow as the season has gone on.There was a point where we were 1-3, and most folks probably didn't think we'd make the playoffs. Here we are having the chance to play for the district championship this week," said head coach Bob Shipley.

"It's one of those hard things where you have to always stay positive in practic after you have a big win. I think we did a great job of that last week," said Bryce Vickers.

"They've done a great job preparing for every game one at a time, and Gatesville is certainly a team that gets your attention. They're 8-0, and they're state ranked," said Shipley.  "They're the number one team in the district in terms of points allowed, and yards allowed. So, they're all they're cracked up to be, and it's going to take a suppurb effort on our part."

"They're a great team. They put up a lot of points, and it's a different type of offense than we've been preparing for the past couple of weeks. So, keeping the intensity up is one of those things that's always important," said Vickers.

There is no secret about Gatesville. They're state ranked and they put up plenty of points. That means the Brownwood Lions defense is going to need to find a way to stop them, and the offense will have to put up points for themselves.
