CHS Running Game Is A Group Effort

The team has run for over 21-hundred yards and Sims has 947 of that total. On some teams, the offensive line gets all the credit for the run game.
On others, the running back gets all the ink. Truth be told, it takes both, and the Cougars understand that fact.
Cooper running back Kerry Sims said, "We're tight. We go to film together, so we already know, like, what holes we need to hit, and what blocking scheme they need to do."
Cougars offensive lineman Jonathan Nicholson says, "It's pretty important because he relies on us, the better we do and the more yards he gets, the more touchdowns."
Sims added, "They're very important. Without the O-linemen, I don't we could go anywhere. Without the o-line, we couldn't throw the ball or run that well."
Nicholson said, "He's(Sims) a key factor. He makes us look real good. He runs hard, and he finds the holes. He makes us look good."
Cooper takes their running game to San Angelo tomorrow night to take on Central. The Cougars are already in the playoffs. Central is still trying to get in. They kick at 7:30.
