The Center of Contemporary Arts was celebrating one of its most important figures, Clint Hamilton. Dia de Los Muertos: Clint Hamilton: Gone But Not Forgotten is aiming to keep the memory of the center's founder alive and vibrant.
The homage will have performances, play Latino music, and offer Mexican cuisine.
Hamilton attended Abilene High School where he set out to New York after graduation. His time there, Hamilton befriended other artists like Andy Warhol, Rosalind Russel, and Anne Bancroft. He returned to Abilene where he started the Artists League of Texas before switching to what is now the Center of Contemporary Arts.
Hamilton died in 2001.
