Texas Man Dies in Semi Accident

By: Nora Hartfeil
Updated: November 4, 2012
According to DPS, 47 year-old Kenneth Harms was traveling eastbound on I-20 in Callahan County, just west of Putnam.

DPS tells us that around 11:20 p.m. on Saturday, Harms veered off the roadway near mile marker 316, hitting the guardrail near Mexia Creek. The truck then went over the concrete barrier and hit the embankment.

DPS tells us the vehicle burst into flames and Harms was pronounced dead at the scene. We're also told the weather was dry and clear at the time of the accident.

This is the second deadly accident over the weekend involving a semi truck driving off the road on I-20 in the Big Country.
