Head coach Todd Moebes' team survived a scare down on San Angelo on Friday night for a 21-17 victory.

The Cougars offense struggled most of the night, and they trailed most of the 2nd half.

Fred Lawrence made the play in the 2nd half that turned the tide. Lawrence returned the Bobcats kickoff 95 yards. The return didn't give Cooper the lead, but it jump started their come back.

Coach Moebes said, "It was huge. We needed a spark. We had been moving the football and getting stops on defense, but it wasn't that electric spark, you know, with a turnover or a big score.  The guys did a good job of shielding the kickoff team from Central, and then we got a big block from Josh Hale. That really electified our football team and kind of got us going, and really, from then on, we were very, very good."

Cooper's regular season is over. They have their bye week this week, and the Cougars will most likely take on El Paso Americas in the 1st round of the playoffs on either November 16th or 17th.
