The McMurry War Hawks earned an invitation to the Heart of Texas Bowl on Saturday with their victory
over Texas College.

That is a good accomplishment for head coach Hal Mumme and his team considering it is the teams 1st year in Division 2, and they already earned an opportunity to play in the post-season.

Mumme says 2 groups played a major role in this year's success.

Coach Mumme says, "I am proud of 2 elements. I was always proud of these seniors, like DJ, because those guys are the reason we have that new stadium out there. I was really excited about  our signing class that we brought in. Our 1st, basically, D-2 class, and those guys have really stepped up and played. There's a lot of them have played well."

Bacone College is next for the War Hawks. That game is a Moore Stadium on Saturday afternoon at 2.
