Officer Loren Adlesperger was enroute to the burglary call when he spotted a female subject reaching into a vehicle in the 1900 block of Chestnut Street. Officer Adlesperger observed that the subject matched the description of the burglary suspect. The female subject was detained and positively identified by the witness as the suspect from the burglary call moments earlier. The preliminary investigation revealed that two witnesses were home when they came upon the suspect inside the residence. The suspect spoke briefly with the witnesses and then left the residence. The preliminary investigation also revealed that the female suspect had removed property from the motor vehicle when she was spotted by Officer Adlesperger and that she had reached into the vehicle through the driver's window. The items stolen consisted of a cell phone and cigarettes. Those items were recovered from the suspect. The victim involved in the burglary of the motor vehicle was contacted and confirmed ownership of said items. The investigation also revealed that the suspect did not remove any property from the involved residence. A report for misdemeanor criminal trespass was taken by Officer Jessica Watkins. The female suspect was arrested for misdemeanor burglary of a motor vehicle. This investigation continues.

Wednesday night at about 9:35, Officer Cory Valencia contacted a motorist in the 1100 block of Roma Lane after seeing the motorist run a stop sign. As soon as the motorist stopped, Officer Valencia observed the occupants of the vehicle exit in an attempt to leave. The occupants were called back and the investigation revealed that there was a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The vehicle and occupants were searched and a baggie containing a small quantity of marijuana was located in the pocket of one of the occupants. The male occupant was arrested for misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Thursday morning at about 12:45, Officer Christopher Milliorn contacted a motorist in the 900 block of North Clack Street for a traffic violation. Officer Milliorn contacted the male driver and smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver. During the investigation, Officer Milliorn also observed that the driver displayed indicators of intoxication. The driver conducted standard field sobriety tests which he failed. The driver was arrested and taken to county jail where he provided breath samples. Breath samples taken revealed that the driver's BAC was 0.174 and 0.175. The driver was arrested on an enhanced misdemeanor charge of DWI (Class A) based on the BAC results exceeding 0.15.
