ACU Starts Season of Caring to Benefit Abilene Families in Need

ACU's Season of Caring is officially underway! This is an opportunity for family and friends of Abilene Christian University to make the holidays brighter for families in need.
Students are now collecting money, household items, toys, food and volunteers' time to benefit Abilene families during the holidays.
Season of Caring offers five opportunities to give back to the Abilene community during the holidays.
Mission Thanksgiving - Nov. 5-15
In partnership with Love & Care Ministries, Mission Thanksgiving serves the homeless and disadvantaged in Abilene. A drop-off truck will be located in the mall area outside the McGlothlin Campus Center from Nov. 5-15 between noon and 6 p.m. accepting donations of non-perishable food and gently used clothing and household goods. Volunteers will be needed to help with drop offs.
Thanksgiving Meals - Nov. 5-15
Cash donations will provide food boxes for low-income families. Each box will include everything for a Thanksgiving dinner, along with extra kitchen staples. A gift of $45 provides for an entire family, but any donation amount will be welcomed at the Campus Center or online <https://www.facebook.com/seasonofcaring>.
Adopt-an-Angel - Nov. 26 - Dec. 4
Visit the angel-tree in the McGlothlin Campus Center Nov. 26 - Dec. 4 to learn about the interests of a child in need and then "adopt" the child by providing needed clothing and toys which they will receive as a Christmas gift.
Mingle and Jingle - Dec. 2
A Christmas celebration will occur Dec. 2 from 7 to 9 p.m. on the Onstead-Packer Bible Studies Building front lawn featuring an acoustic concert by Texas country music star Aaron Watson, a visit from Santa Claus and a Christmas movie. Admission is one unwrapped toy.
Christmas Slam - Dec. 4
Support the ACU women's and men's basketball games in Moody Coliseum Dec. 4 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Bring an unwrapped toy for a needy child in Abilene.
