On October 24, the general manager of Kerrville bus company sent a letter to agents stating "we will no longer be stopping at any greyhound facilities after Oct 31."

"I get this letter, they give me a call and told me, 'don't issue any ticket from them.' But this is real hard for the people from Brownwood."

Over 50 weekly passengers will be affected by this change. Some have already been disappointed.

"Everybody came so early over here with their luggage to get the bus ticket and the bus didn't run from here," says Brabin Ghimira, store clerk.

Havins unit, a pre-release facility located in Brownwood, used the bus on a regular basis. When an inmate was released, its was Kerrville that took them home. Now, it's not certain what actions they'll take.

Or the salvation army.

"Most of our homeless don't have cars but they have families somewhere else. Then we want to get them to either family or shelter in another community," explains Donna Harris, Salvation Army Director.

Without shelter or transportation available in Brownwood, many people will be left stranded with no where to go.

"It's just really really sad, we didn't have no real warning about it, ti just happened," says Harris.

Kerrville has not explained the sudden cancellation, but they did say the cooperative relationship with greyhound bus lines, is no longer.

Until further notice, people are left wondering how they will get from place to place.

"Everybody's trying to figure out what we can do, but the truth is with out a transport system of some kind, we're not gonna be able to help a lot of people."

For now people are forced to go to Abilene just to catch the bus.
